The kinetic typography I’m working on in my previous posts is harder than I expected :)) So I’ll work on that some other time. Meanwhile in Catching Fire…
I always wanted to experiment on a vintage-y typography using color channels and blending modes so I tried them all in this poster.

After I finished reading the THG Movie Guide, Gary Ross earned my utmost respect for how hands-on he is in handling the script, location, cast, wardrobe, and everything else. Then I watched the movie, and I respected him even more. I admit, I didn’t expect I will like the movie adaptation that much since movies tend to usually ruin the books. And after all the relief I felt after watching the first movie will I get the news that Gary Ross isn’t directing Catching Fire. It’s like, all the anxiety I had when I first found out they’re turning the book into a movie hits me back all over again.

Risa Rodil Minimizes The Hunger Games

Artist Risa Rodil is spectacular at creating interesting & complex images… yet the ones that I chose to highlight are some of the simplest out of all of them. I am a huge fan of minimalist takes on pop culture properties, so why not see what Rodil has to say about Suzanne Collins’s Hunger Game Trilogy? All three of these capture key moments from each book without revealing anything too important. It’s like an inside joke for those who have read it, and peaks the interest of the people who haven’t read it yet. Either way, they are hot. Check all three of them out after the jump…
