I don’t think I got the chance to share this last year. This is my invitation for my 18th party. I personally requested that I’ll get to design my own invitation because I like it to come out exactly as how I wanted it. I wanted to have a unique invitation that no one has ever tried before so I decided to go with the 3D effect. I researched some 3d invitations online but I didn’t find something like this, all I ever found was the 3d pop up paper thing that literally pops out when you open it. 

So I’ve done lots of research about this 3D effect, the red and cyan glasses, the procedure on how to convert an image to 3D, how it works and stuff like that. I bought tickets to watch 3d movies that were out that time and tried to see how it works. I watched Cloudy with a chance of meatballs, Alice in Wonderland and Step Up 3D. I also downloaded the movie file in torrentz so I can watch it repeatedly and try to figure it out. After a few weeks, I discovered that the effect is called “Stereoscopy” so I’ve done another set of research for that one. So once I figured that out, I thought I won’t be having any more troubles, not until I tried to have it printed. The effect when you look at it in a computer screen and the effect when it’s printed came out differently. I realized there’s a special paper you’ll need to get the 3d thing to work. It took me a couple of more weeks to finally get it to work and this is the final product! :D

I hope you have 3d red and cyan glasses at home and maybe you can give it a try! The last photo is a decoder, when you cover the blue part of your glasses, a hidden message will appear.

If ever some of you are celebrating their birthdays, maybe you can have your own invitations in 3D too! :D
